The Traitors star to inspire students as º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Inverness graduation guest speaker
A HIGHLANDER who was a hit on our television screens as a finalist of the reality show The Traitors will be the guest speaker at the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Inverness Graduation and Celebration of Achievement.
Evie Morrison from Inverness will address the morning and afternoon ceremonies on Friday, 4 October. She will reflect on her own time as a º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ student and how her learning experience has guided her career in animal health and her TV experience.
More than 900 people will attend the event at the Free North Church in Bank Steet, Inverness. The ceremonies will begin at 10.30am and 1.30pm.
"It's an honour to be speaking at the 2024 º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Inverness Graduation and Celebration of Achievement,” said Evie.
“Being a graduate of the class of 2016 myself, I know the hard work and determination it takes to get to graduation day and I'm excited to celebrate this milestone with them. I'll be sharing my story of how I went from º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ student to finalist on the UK's biggest TV show The Traitors, how my time at the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ shaped my life and some lessons I learned along the way."
In January of this year, Evie starred in series two of BBC One’s The Traitors, a hugely popular show of trust and treachery presented by Claudia Winkleman and filmed at Ardross Castle in Ross-shire.
Evie was one of 22 contestants who took part, and she starred in all 12 episodes. Making it to the last five, she was banished in the final.
Evie graduated from the now º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ North, West and Hebrides with a diploma in Small Animal Veterinary Nursing in 2016. She worked in a busy first opinion practice in Inverness and continued her studies by gaining a Certificate in Small Animal Dentistry with the International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS).
She moved into a different role in 2022, specialising in Veterinary Pharmacovigilance and Biosecurity and currently oversees 10 centres across Scotland, including one in Inverness.
Evie also runs an Instagram account showcasing her running journey and is currently training for the Dava Way 50K in the Cairngorms in November.
The graduation event is a highlight of the academic year at º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Inverness.
Professor Chris O’Neil, Principal and Chief Executive of º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Inverness, said: “Friday will be a very special day for our students, their friends and family, and our staff. Graduation day celebrates the achievements of our students, but also reinforces our commitment at º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Inverness to nurturing talent and fostering innovation. I’m very grateful to Evie for accepting our invitation to share her insights and experiences. I am sure her inspiring words will motivate our students to pursue their dreams with passion and determination.”
The graduation ceremony will be followed by a celebratory reception at the Inverness Campus.
