MacMoray Festival Survival Guide
Bringing together our community for a weekend of fun, MacMoray Festival celebrates the many generations of music. Whether you're a seasoned MacMoray-goer or a first-timer, maximizing your MacMoray experience requires a bit of planning, so we’ve put together a guide on how to make the most of the weekend.
Don’t get stuck in traffic
Book onto one of the local for easy pickup and drop off. If you plan on driving you can book your car, motorhome or caravan into one of the locations across Elgin.
Arrive on time
Gates open at 10am with the first main stage act starting at 12.30pm. If you want to leave throughout the day you need to collect a re-entry pass from the information point however make sure you are back onsite by 7pm as that’s when the entry gates close.
Pack wisely
We all know how unpredictable the Scottish weather can be, so whilst you’re optimistically packing your sunscreen, don’t forget a warm jumper and a poncho! Here’s some of our top packs:
- Comfy footwear
- Picnic blanket
- Deck chair
- Torch - for the late-night walk out of the park
- Snacks - no unsealed bottles or alcohol allowed
Beat the queue
Grab your entry wristband the week before to fast track the security lines – keep an eye on MacMoray Festival pages for information on collecting your wristbands nearer the time.
Explore the grounds
Take some time to explore all the stalls on offer and make sure to come say hello to us in the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Moray zone where our staff will be offering fun activities and information.
Top tip: Familiarise yourself with where the amenities such as toilet facilities, lost and found, etc. are located.
Capture memories
It’s great to live in the moment, but it’s also great to have photos (and videos) to look back on, so whilst you’re not busy dancing the night away, take a moment to capture those snaps as souvenirs.
Party hard
The highlight of any music festival is the music itself so now’s the time to dance like nobody's watching, sing along to your favourite songs, and embrace the festival energy! Just make sure you and others can get home safely afterwards.
